Tailored for Unique Eye Conditions

  • Custom Fit for Comfort: Patients with corneal abnormalities or severe astigmatism may find that typical lenses do not fit comfortably. Our specialty lenses, including scleral lenses, rigid gas permeable, hybrids, and custom soft lenses are designed to conform to the unique contours of your eyes, providing superior comfort and stability.

  • Scleral Lenses: Larger in diameter than typical lenses, scleral lenses vault over the entire corneal surface, making them ideal for severe dry eyes or irregular corneas. They provide excellent comfort and stable vision, often superior to other types of lenses. These are commonly used in the correction of vision for keratoconus and corneal transplant patients.

  • Multifocal Lenses: Available in both soft and rigid lenses, provide clear vision at both distance and near. These are used to correct presbyopia in patients over 40 especially.

  • Orthokeratology (CRT or Corneal Reshaping Technology): Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a specialty therapy involving the night time use of a specially designed contact lens. This lens temporally changes the shape of the central cornea, correcting vision. During the day, most patients do not require glasses or contact lenses to see. These lenses are also prescribed for some children to slow the progression of myopia (nearsightedness).

Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses

Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses, alternatively known as hard or GP lenses, are a type of contact lens crafted from breathable plastic materials that facilitate the passage of oxygen to the cornea. In contrast to soft lenses, RGPs maintain their form on the eye, ensuring sharp vision and superior durability. These lenses are particularly advantageous for individuals with astigmatism and presbyopia, as they can rectify irregular corneal shapes more effectively than soft lenses. Furthermore, RGPs boast exceptional oxygen permeability, minimizing the likelihood of eye infections and ensuring sustained comfort throughout the day. With proper maintenance and routine examinations, RGP lenses have the potential to deliver clear, comfortable vision for an extended period.
